The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) — 7 On / 7 Off, On-Call role is based in Pensacola, FL, with skilled nursing and hospice care delivered in patients’ homes across assigned caseloads. Compensation is not specified. Peoples Hospice and Palliative Care is a family-owned, locally governed hospice and home health provider serving the Florida Panhandle. As part of the interdisciplinary team, the nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to support comfort and health for patients and families. The role also coordinates with physicians and community resources, maintains patient records, guides caregivers, and responds to medical or emotional crises and patient deaths. Evening, weekend, and holiday on-call duty is part of the position.

What you'll do

• Provide skilled nursing assessment, intervention, and supportive hospice care in patients’ homes
• assume scheduled evening, weekend, and holiday on-call duty
• assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
• communicate with attending physicians and community resources
• document patient status and care
• instruct caregivers
• respond to crises and provide direct care as appropriate
• provide counsel at time of death.

Why this role
