The Peer Support Specialist, BHRC Day Center role is onsite in Portland, OR, Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at $25 per hour. The Multnomah County Behavioral Health Resource Center is a peer-led, trauma-informed and equity-based program serving people experiencing houselessness and behavioral health challenges. This role uses lived recovery experience to provide person-directed peer support, help participants develop recovery plans and goals, and connect them with community resources. It contributes to participants’ self-defined recovery journeys through individual support and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

What you'll do

• Provide one-to-one peer support
• collaborate with participants on Person Directed Plans
• coordinate with service providers and interdisciplinary teams
• support participants in crisis with de-escalation and next steps
• connect participants with community resources
• document services and outcomes
• participate in Day Center opening or closing procedures
• occasionally travel to community partners and participants, including occasional participant transportation.
