What you'll do

• Cleans, assembles, maintains, operates, troubleshoots and performs minor repair on all equipment, Performs general respiratory therapy to all ages, Collects and evaluates additional information through chart review, general assessment and patient interviews, Performs and modifies (or changes) treatments based on response to therapy, Evaluates and monitors response to all therapy with appropriate documentation in the medical record, Provides critical care services to patients of all ages, Reviews patient records, Manages and makes adjustments to mechanical ventilators, including weaning, Assists with endotracheal intubation and performs extubations, Participates in CPR, patient transport, and monitoring, Inspects chest X-Ray to determine presence of abnormalities, artificial airway position and other conditions, Maintains a patent airway by providing adequate humidification, and oral/nasopharyngeal airway suctioning, Performs and evaluates diagnostic studies to include bedside spirometry, pulmonary mechanics and blood gas analysis, Performs and monitors moderately complex testing as related to the blood gas lab, sample collection, sample analysis, reporting of results and maintenance procedures, Performs EKG's as needed, including transmission of results, Appropriate patient/family education is provided based on assessed needs with appropriate documentation, Verifies, prepares and administers medication to patients, Performs other related duties as assigned by the Respiratory Care Manager/Director and/or Supervisor.
