Field Service Technician — Appliance Repair

Job overview

The Field Service Technician role is performed in customer homes, warehouses, and occasionally shop settings in the Sterling, Virginia area. Compensation is $24–$33 per hour. Bray & Scarff provides appliance repair service to customers. The technician diagnoses and repairs major household appliances, documenting work and coordinating parts to support safe, efficient repairs and first-call completion. The role also maintains truck stock and communicates repair findings and timelines to customers.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair major household appliances in customer homes
• review service orders, technical bulletins, wiring diagrams, and manuals
• explain findings, repair needs, parts, and timelines to customers
• document work and parts in company systems
• maintain truck stock and complete inventory checks
• request parts and coordinate with Parts and Dispatch
• maintain and safely use tools and equipment
• install parts as required
• collect payments or signatures when applicable
• follow safety and workmanship standards
• operate company vehicles safely
• participate in ongoing technical training.
