Fire Alarm & Security Installation Technician

Job overview

The Fire Alarm & Security Installation Technician role is based in Texas and requires extensive nationwide travel, typically for two to four weeks at a time. Compensation is $25–$45 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay and per diem for overnight travel. The technician supports commercial and retail projects across the United States. The technician installs and tests commercial fire alarm, CCTV, and intrusion systems, runs low-voltage cabling, and documents completed work. Following applicable standards and coordinating with project teams helps deliver safe, functional installations on schedule.

What you'll do

• Install commercial fire alarm, CCTV, and intrusion/security systems
• run and terminate low-voltage cabling
• install cable supports, raceways, and j-hooks and perform limited conduit work
• read blueprints and installation drawings
• test and troubleshoot systems
• document completed work
• follow NFPA standards, customer requirements, and OSHA safety regulations
• coordinate with project managers and installation teams.
