Direct Support Worker — Weekends

The Direct Support Worker role is onsite in Monroe, LA, with a set 12-hour schedule every Saturday and Sunday. Pay is $10–$12 per hour. ARCO is a nonprofit United Way agency supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in northeast Louisiana. The worker assists participants with daily routines, personal care, household tasks, and community activities. The role helps participants build communication, self-care, and decision-making skills and increase independence and community involvement.

What you'll do

• Support participants in completing daily schedules
• assist with hygiene and grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and errands, medical appointments, and medication administration
• maintain a clean and safe household
• plan and implement activities that promote socialization and community involvement
• use adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and lifts
• document daily activities.

Why this role

Must be at least 21, pass background and drug screening, have a valid driver's license and dependable insured vehicle, and be comfortable supporting participants with varying disabilities and support needs. Previous direct support worker experience is preferred but not required.
