Emergency Veterinary Technician

What you'll do

• Administer medications
• perform diagnostic tests such as blood work and X-rays
• assist in surgeries and post-operative care
• monitor vital signs and patient records
• respond to changes in patient condition
• provide CPR and other life-saving techniques when needed
• safely handle and restrain animals
• communicate with pet owners about conditions and treatment plans
• maintain a clean work environment and sterilize instruments
• assist with intake and discharge
• operate and maintain equipment such as ventilators and IV pumps
• conduct initial assessments and triage
• use advanced skills including anesthetic induction, monitoring, and IV catheter placement.
