The Shift Supervisor role is onsite in Berkeley, CA. Base pay is $22.90 per hour, plus tips averaging approximately $4–$8 per shift hour. The role coordinates service and daily operations, develops team members, and contributes to a safe, clean, and efficient cafe.

What you'll do

• Support cafe operations and continuous improvement
• oversee service flow, safety, cleanliness, quality, and efficiency
• order, receive, and manage inventory
• deploy staff and oversee breaks
• uphold beverage and food preparation standards
• facilitate onboarding and training
• handle cash and daily deposits
• address guest concerns
• report illness and injury incidents
• guide team members on menu offerings and procedures
• support sustainability objectives
• prepare and serve food and beverages
• participate in tastings, cuppings, and training
• follow company standards and safety protocols.

Why this role

Requires 6 months to 1 year of supervisory or team-leadership experience. Must have or obtain the required state food safety certification within 30 days after hire and complete Blue Bottle Academy barista training and validation within 90 days after hire. Schedule availability includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
