Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer role is onsite in El Paso, TX. Compensation is not specified. The role partners with MiniMed cross-functional teams to help deliver reliable, high-quality products for customers. The engineer works across the supplier and manufacturing lifecycle to qualify suppliers, address supplier-related issues, and improve product and process quality. The role also supports acceptance sampling, supplier quality programs, receiving inspection, and compliance with applicable industry, regulatory, and customer requirements.

What you'll do

• Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services
• qualify suppliers to company standards and potentially administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection
• monitor parts through the manufacturing cycle and resolve supplier-related problems
• evaluate supplier functions and provide performance feedback
• partner with R&D, sourcing, engineering, operations, and quality teams
• provide technical quality guidance throughout the product lifecycle, especially supplier changes
• support acceptance sampling strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, control plans, receiving inspection requirements, and test-method validation.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and at least two years of relevant experience. Medical-device industry or automotive-part qualification experience required. Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QMSR, geometric tolerances, supplier development, quality, and process improvement is listed; Agile and Trackwise experience is a plus.
