The Ophthalmic Technician Assistant works onsite in Babylon, New York. The hourly pay rate is $22. Long Island Vision Management’s SightMD group provides ophthalmic care across several northeastern states and operates more than 60 locations. The assistant supports physicians and patient flow by completing supervised intake, basic eye testing, documentation, patient communication, and exam-room and equipment preparation.

What you'll do

• Greet patients and document visit information under supervision
• explain and perform basic eye tests
• update electronic health records
• process prescription refill requests and coordinate prior authorizations as directed
• communicate patient instructions and results
• maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and infection-control practices
• protect patient privacy.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of medical-office or customer-service experience. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification is preferred or may be completed within the stated post-hire timeframe. The schedule rotates and includes days, evenings, and weekends.
