Specialty Buyer

Job overview

The Specialty Buyer role is onsite in Linthicum Heights, MD. Pay is $25–$26 per hour, depending on experience. The role supports JF Petroleum Group’s construction, service, and installation business. The buyer sources materials for staged projects and sales orders, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure products are ready for customer-required dates. The role also monitors purchasing and inventory information, resolves supply issues, and supports on-time project delivery.

What you'll do

• Use economic analysis to select sourcing methods, including direct supplier purchases, central purchasing, or transfers from existing inventory
• prepare purchase orders and coordinate staging
• negotiate project-level costs
• work with vendors, project managers, and engineers to select materials and manage substitutions
• ensure materials are staged for requested delivery dates
• monitor and expedite vendor orders
• verify acknowledgements against purchase orders and update ERP records
• provide inventory updates on weekly operations calls
• resolve issues with warehouses, carriers, and vendors
• coordinate invoice accuracy with Accounts Payable
• manage urgent parts requests
• arrange warehouse shipments and customer invoicing
• conduct data and trend analysis.
