The Chief Audit Executive role is onsite in Albany, NY. Compensation is not specified. First New York Federal Credit Union is establishing an in-house internal audit function to strengthen its governance and assurance framework. Reporting functionally to the Supervisory Committee and administratively to the President/CEO, the executive builds and directs an independent, risk-based audit program. The role provides objective assurance and actionable insights on governance, risk management, internal controls, regulatory readiness, and key programs and processes.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan
• establish the audit charter, methodology, quality standards, documentation, and reporting protocols
• maintain independence and access to relevant records, personnel, systems, and properties
• lead or oversee financial, operational, compliance, IT, lending, vendor management, and other risk-based audits
• coordinate NCUA examinations and external audits
• track findings and corrective actions through validated closure
• report audit trends and open issues
• support Supervisory Committee meetings and provide clear audit reports and presentations
• develop the audit operating model, quality assurance program, and future staffing and technology roadmap.
