The Experienced CNC Machinist, Shafting Specialist role is onsite in Dodge City, KS, with a first-shift schedule of 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Compensation is $17.50–$30 per hour. Curtis Machine Company is seeking a machinist who can take a shaft from print to finished part. This experienced specialist independently sets up and troubleshoots CNC turning work to produce precision shafts that meet specifications. The role contributes to quality and efficient production by planning machining sequences, inspecting parts, correcting machining issues, and improving methods to reduce setup time and scrap.

What you'll do

• Set up and machine shafts with required features
• evaluate drawings and plan machining sequences
• select and adjust tooling and workholding
• inspect first-piece and in-process work
• troubleshoot dimensional variation, tool wear, and surface finish issues
• improve methods and reduce setup time and scrap
• communicate with engineering, quality, and production personnel
• maintain safe practices and production records.
