The Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical, Day Shift role is onsite at Pagosa Springs Medical Center in Pagosa Springs, CO. The nurse provides observation and inpatient care to assigned Medical-Surgical patients. Through assessment, treatment, monitoring, education, and coordination with providers, the role supports safe care, continuity, and efforts to help prevent readmission.

What you'll do

• Assess and prioritize patient care
• plan, provide, monitor, and reassess nursing care
• document assessments and changes in condition
• report abnormal findings
• administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments
• operate infusion pumps and document in Cerner
• use Care Compass to organize and document care
• provide patient and family education
• interpret cardiac monitoring and respond appropriately
• transfer care using SBAR when appropriate
• follow infection prevention and patient safety practices
• collaborate with providers and staff
• mentor nursing staff and support continuous learning.

Why this role

Requires at least five years of Medical-Surgical or Emergency Room experience, previous traveler experience, Cerner experience, an active Colorado or Compact RN license, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
