Cybersecurity Engineer III

The Cybersecurity Engineer III role is onsite in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. Compensation is $135,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience. The role supports the Navy's global Live Virtual Constructive environments through enterprise IT and network security engineering. The engineer designs and secures systems, integrates cybersecurity controls, and leads hardening, vulnerability analysis, and accreditation support. The role also provides technical leadership and mentorship to support secure system operations.

What you'll do

• Design and implement secure architectures across enterprise IT and network environments
• lead system hardening, secure configuration, and risk mitigation
• integrate controls under RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks
• conduct vulnerability analysis, threat modeling, and remediation planning
• support system accreditation and ATO processes
• mentor junior engineers and guide secure engineering practices.
