The Automation Specialist – PLC/HMI Commissioning role is onsite at the QTS PHX3 data center project in Phoenix, AZ. Pay is up to $71 per hour, depending on qualifications. The schedule is approximately 50 hours per week, Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM, for approximately four months depending on project needs. The role supports commissioning and startup activities on the data center project. The position focuses on commissioning existing PLC programs rather than developing an automation system from scratch. It contributes to project startup by performing loop checks, troubleshooting controls and field devices, assisting with chiller commissioning, and verifying control sequences and connected equipment.

What you'll do

• Support PLC/HMI commissioning for data center mechanical and automation systems
• perform and support I/O and loop checks
• assist with chiller startup and commissioning
• troubleshoot PLC, HMI, controls, field-device, communications, and control-system issues
• diagnose issues in existing PLC programs
• support functional verification of control sequences and connected equipment
• work within Ignition HMI
• coordinate with commissioning teams, controls technicians, engineers, and field personnel.

Why this role

Current Ignition Core Certification is required. The posting also requires hands-on Ignition HMI experience and experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and/or CompactLogix PLC hardware.
