Therapist, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Jail-Based is an onsite role in Hampton, VA, with a stated annual salary of $55,549 and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role supports behavioral health and substance use treatment for people receiving MAT while incarcerated and preparing for community reentry. The therapist provides assessment, counseling, treatment planning, and care coordination at Hampton City Jail. The role works with jail staff, medical providers, and community partners to support recovery, discharge planning, and continuity of care after release.

What you'll do

  • Complete behavioral health and substance use assessments
  • develop individualized treatment plans
  • provide individual and group counseling
  • respond to behavioral health and substance use crises
  • provide recovery-focused education
  • coordinate discharge planning and community referrals
  • maintain electronic health records
  • participate in multidisciplinary meetings
  • collaborate with re-entry, correctional, medical, and community partners.
