Senior SQL Database Administrator

The Senior SQL Database Administrator role is onsite in Laurel, MD, during required core business hours. Compensation is not specified. The administrator maintains secure, available, and high-performing SQL Server environments across on-premises and AWS infrastructure. Database maintenance, automation, security controls, and incident resolution help sustain mission-critical applications and meet enterprise security requirements.

What you'll do

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server across on-premises and AWS environments
• perform patching, vulnerability remediation, upgrades, backups, restores, and maintenance
• generate compliance reports
• tune and troubleshoot performance
• develop T-SQL and PowerShell automation
• manage accounts, permissions, encryption, and access controls
• deploy databases using AWS RDS, EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation
• support Ansible and Terraform infrastructure-as-code initiatives
• maintain monitoring, documentation, and operational procedures
• collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.

Why this role
