Head Start Teacher

Job overview

The Head Start Teacher role is onsite in Pleasanton, CA, with pay of $24–$28 per hour. CAPE provides Head Start and Early Head Start preschool services focused on early childhood education and development. The teacher plans and delivers developmentally appropriate classroom learning, assesses children’s progress, and works with families and staff to support children’s confidence, development, and inclusion in program activities.

What you'll do

• Plan and implement an emergent, anti-bias curriculum and lesson plans with parents and staff
• lead circle time
• maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom
• assess children, record observations, and maintain portfolios
• participate in progress reviews
• conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences
• encourage family involvement
• supervise meals and snacks
• follow food safety, child abuse reporting, and classroom safety requirements.
