Direct Support Professional | Supported Living and In-Home Care

Job overview

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in the Lynchburg, VA area, including Lynchburg, Madison Heights, Amherst, Concord, Bedford, and Forest. Pay is $16–$18 per hour. Wall Residences provides community services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The professional supports individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, community participation, transportation, advocacy, and medication assistance. Accurate notes and flexible support help maintain continuity of care and enable individuals to pursue their own activities and needs.

What you'll do

• Assist with laundry, cleaning, meal planning, cooking, and organizing
• support personal care needs
• help individuals explore volunteer opportunities
• provide transportation and advocacy for medical and dental appointments
• assist with medication administration
• maintain accurate notes
• meet the stated driver’s license and driving-record requirements
• serve as a mandated reporter of abuse and neglect.
