Youth Engagement Support Staff (Thursday–Saturday)

The Youth Engagement Support Staff role is onsite in Asbury Park, NJ, with compensation of $21.77 per hour. The position supports young people at Covenant House New Jersey through strength-based, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction-focused engagement. The staff member builds supportive relationships, helps young people work toward self-identified goals, facilitates activities, and provides crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed. The stated schedule is Thursday and Friday, 4:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.

What you'll do

• Welcome young people and explain program structure and resources
• build supportive relationships and support success-plan goals
• encourage progress in wellness, education, employment, financial literacy, and social navigation
• monitor medication and complete logs
• participate in house and outside activities
• provide crisis de-escalation and intervention as needed
• document intakes, transitions, progress, incidents, and activities
• maintain supplies and common areas
• and cover the front desk or transport youth when assigned.
