The Clinical Nurse II, Dialysis, Day Shift role is onsite in Washington, DC. Compensation is $37.89–$63.36 per hour. The nurse joins Howard University Hospital’s Patient Care Services team and supports its mission, vision, and values through safe, patient-centered care. The registered nurse provides specialized dialysis care, monitors treatment responses, and coordinates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. What you'll do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for dialysis patients
• monitor condition and treatment response and communicate changes
• educate and support patients and families
• document care and outcomes
• coordinate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary staff
• delegate appropriate activities
• follow infection prevention, medication, and safety protocols
• participate in quality and professional development initiatives
• serve as charge nurse when approved
• maintain competency
• and support clinical equipment operation and troubleshooting.

Why this role

Requires an accredited nursing program, a current District of Columbia Registered Nurse license, current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification, and previous dialysis experience. Requires two years of clinical nursing experience or the stated hospital advancement-program alternative; BSN and nephrology certification are preferred.
