Chef-in-Training, Food Service Worker — 57th & Lex

The Chef-in-Training, Food Service Worker role is onsite in New York, NY, with stated pay of $17–$18 per hour depending on experience, plus $2–$3 per hour in tips. DIG’s scratch-based kitchens focus on real food and describe a mission to rebuild the food system. The role develops culinary skills while supporting restaurant service and the kitchen team. The team member prepares and cooks ingredients, gains exposure to kitchen stations, discusses menu items and ingredients with guests, helps during service, and follows food-safety standards.

What you'll do

• Prepare, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, and grains using recipes
• gain exposure to kitchen stations including garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge, and delivery/packout
• discuss menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients with guests
• support the team during service
• follow Department of Health and DIG food-safety standards.
