Echocardiography Technician

The Echocardiography Technician role is onsite in Flushing, NY, on a day schedule of 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, for 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The posting lists local pay of $2,800–$2,900 per week and traveler pay of $2,900–$2,950 per week. The technician supports the Non-Invasive Cardiology department. The technician performs ordered echocardiograms, operates diagnostic equipment, and supports patient care and physician procedures. What you'll do

• Operate and maintain echocardiogram equipment and supplies
• inspect equipment and report malfunctions
• respond to STAT echocardiogram requests within 15 minutes
• perform ordered examinations and verify patient identity
• explain procedures and position patients
• select transducers and adjust equipment for imaging
• document examinations and maintain study data
• assist physicians during procedures such as pericardiocentesis while maintaining sterile technique
• maintain department records
• provide clerical support and schedule examinations
• identify patient concerns and obtain assistance from an MD or RN
• follow quality, safety, infection-control, and departmental standards.
