Dietitian Nutrition Services - Part time, onsite, in Hyattsville, MD. This position has a hiring range of USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,836.00 /Yr. The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for collecting pertinent information, developing appropriate care plans, monitoring patient status, and counseling patients and families on special nutritional requirements, consulting with other health personnel as needed.

What you'll do

• Conducts assessment for patients to establish diet and food guidelines.
• Review patient medical orders.
• Develop and implement an individualized plan for medical nutrition therapy.
• Provide therapeutic plan for specialized nutrition support.
• Works cooperatively with the Food Service staff.
• Calculates nutritional requirements and necessary diet restrictions or food/drug interactions.
• Completes nutritional assessment and participates in interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments.
• Responsible for developing or obtaining patient nutrition education materials.
• Assesses patient's knowledge of diet and provides education.
• Monitors adherence and response to nutrition therapy.
• Plan menus to meet patients' needs.
• Document nutritional care plans and patient response.
• Serve as nutritional care resource.
• Directs clinical supportive staff.
• Participates in staff and committee meetings.
• Conduct rounds to check inconsistencies or patients with potential nutritional problems.
• Provides patient with ongoing nutrition assessment and outcome-oriented nutrition counseling.
• Communicates and coordinates with physician and other health care personnel.
• Evaluate food served for conformance to quality standards and dietary prescriptions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree in dietetics nutrition required or equivalent required

Experience

1-2 years Experience in a healthcare setting required
