This position supports the Equipment & System Analytics team within Xcel Energy's Energy Supply organization, focusing on data-driven improvements for power generation facilities. The role exists to optimize and continuously improve the operation and maintenance approaches of power generation equipment. The intern will use data analytics and AI models to identify and mitigate operational and financial risks, contributing to fleet reliability and cost-effective energy production.

What you'll do

• Support instrumentation design and installation to monitor critical equipment failure modes
• enhance software applications for Asset Performance Management using low-code tools
• use AI models to interpret large data sets for operational efficiency.
