What you'll do

• Rooming patients and collecting chief complaint, family, social, surgical history, and completing medication reconciliation.
• Conducting telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities.
• Gathering and maintaining patient information via telephone per department policies.
• Performing administrative tasks such as prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, benefits verification, and coordinating referrals/testing.
• Completing office procedures per department competencies.
• Performing procedures including breath tests, assisting with flexible sigmoidoscopy, HRA, rectal ultrasound, and glucose point-of-care testing.
• Providing written instructions for procedures, medications, and follow-up per provider direction.
• Retrieving and providing condition-specific education from approved sources per provider orders.
• Administering medications per provider order.
• Assisting with prescription refills per department protocols.
• Calling medications into pharmacies, notifying patients of refills, and documenting in the EMR.
• Performing MRI screening per protocol.
• Generating result notes.
• Initiating and performing breath tests.
• Administering vaccines and injections.
• Providing patient instructions.
• Completing prior authorization processes.
• Preparing charts for visits and procedures.
• Assisting with minor procedures such as flexible sigmoidoscopy, rectal ultrasound, and high-resolution anoscopy.
• Performing and maintaining competency in high-level disinfection and sterilization processes.
