The Surgical Aide – Operating Room – Per Diem role is onsite in Elmira, NY. Pay is $18.07–$24.49 per hour. The aide supports Arnot Health’s perioperative services and helps the surgical day, evening, or night run smoothly. The role assists the operating room team with patient transport, supplies, room turnover, and equipment upkeep. By following aseptic and decontamination procedures and coordinating with clinical and central processing staff, the aide supports safe, efficient patient care.

What you'll do

• Remove trash and linen after procedures
• transport patients between units, the OR, and same-day surgery
• coordinate cart and linen exchanges
• restock blanket warmers and OR areas
• transport specimens and blood products using appropriate PPE
• check refrigerator temperatures
• obtain post-op beds
• clean room turnovers and maintain decontamination carts
• assist with patient positioning
• follow aseptic guidelines and hospital procedures
• communicate handoffs to the next shift.

Why this role
