What you'll do

• Evaluate patients before surgery
• educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care
• prepare patients, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical-site verification
• participate in briefings, time-outs, debriefings, and universal protocols
• and recognize and respond to emergencies with the interdisciplinary team.
