Advanced Practice Provider (PRN)

The Advanced Practice Provider (PRN) role is onsite in Roanoke, VA, with hourly pay of $60–$70. American Family Care provides walk-in primary and urgent care seven days a week, including treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation, and occupational medicine. The provider assesses and treats patients within their training and approved agreement, coordinating with clinicians and staff to support efficient patient flow and patient satisfaction. The work includes evaluating complaints, ordering appropriate diagnostic studies, initiating treatment or referrals, and providing emergency stabilization when needed.

What you'll do

• Take health histories and review records
• develop medical assessments
• order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies
• formulate diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals
• provide emergency treatment or stabilization
• interpret patient data to guide management and treatment
• educate patients and families about health care and health promotion.

Why this role

Board certification through ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA is required; DOT certification is preferred. One year of emergency room or urgent care experience outside clinical rotations is preferred.
