Design Engineer — Land Development

Job overview

The Design Engineer — Land Development role is hybrid in San Jose, CA, with an annualized base salary range of $75,000–$100,000. The role supports BKF’s land development projects; BKF provides civil engineering and surveying services across California, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. The engineer assists with site and infrastructure design from concept through construction documentation, collaborating with project engineers and stakeholders to meet project milestones. The work supports residential, commercial, mixed-use, roadway, highway, and public works development projects.

What you'll do

• Assist with site-plan design for residential, commercial, mixed-use, roadway, highway, and public works projects
• prepare grading and drainage plans using standard engineering practices and AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• design potable water distribution and wastewater collection systems in accordance with local standards and permitting requirements
• participate in design reviews and project scheduling
• support reports, feasibility studies, master plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• coordinate with project engineers and stakeholders
• review plans and calculations for accuracy and constructability.
