Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer role is an onsite position in Newark, NY, with a stated salary range of $80,000–$90,000 per year. Ultralife Corporation designs and manufactures power solutions, communications, and electronics systems for markets including government and defense, medical, safety and security, energy, industrial, and robotics. This engineer evaluates supplier capabilities and performance and drives corrective action and continuous improvement so purchased materials and components meet company quality standards and customer expectations. The role also supports new product development and coordinates supplier quality issues with internal teams.

What you'll do

• Evaluate and qualify suppliers through audits and assessments
• track supplier performance and issue corrective actions
• lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action for supplier nonconformances
• develop incoming inspection criteria
• support new product development
• facilitate capability studies, First Article Inspections, and PPAP where applicable
• collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing
• and maintain supplier quality documentation and compliance.
