Founding Security Engineer

The Founding Security Engineer role is onsite five days per week in San Francisco, California. Base salary is $230,000–$300,000, plus competitive equity. The company’s AI research platform helps customers turn research questions into insights, and this role protects a platform handling sensitive voice, face, and device data. As the first dedicated security engineering hire, the engineer defines security architecture and builds a practical program across the LLM pipeline, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing product. The role partners with engineering teams to identify and remediate risks, supports enterprise security reviews, and establishes a roadmap that can scale with the company.

What you'll do

• Define and build security architecture across the LLM pipeline, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing product
• partner with engineering on threat modeling, vulnerability discovery, and secure design
• harden multi-tenant isolation and support regional data residency
• own penetration tests, vulnerability scans, remediation programs, and security policies
• manage device, access, identity, and security operations
• support audits and enterprise security reviews
• build the security program roadmap.
