CNC Operator / CNC Machinist — 1st or 2nd Shift

The CNC Operator / CNC Machinist role is onsite in Murphy, NC; compensation is not specified, though second-shift employees receive an additional $3.00 per hour above the applicable base rate. JGA Space & Defense's machining operations produce precision components for aerospace, space, and defense applications. Depending on experience and qualifications, the hire may operate CNC equipment or set up, operate, and troubleshoot machines to produce components. The role supports production quality and safety through inspections, documentation, and coordination with programming, engineering, production, and quality teams. First shift runs Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; second shift runs Monday–Thursday, 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m., with four 10-hour shifts per week.

What you'll do

• Depending on qualifications, operate CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis machining centers
• load and unload materials and parts
• monitor machine operation and make routine adjustments
• set up machines, install tooling, set offsets, and perform changeovers
• interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and GD&T requirements
• inspect parts and verify specifications
• troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
• maintain production and quality documentation
• follow AS9100, OSHA, and company safety procedures
• work with programming, manufacturing engineering, production, and quality teams.

Why this role
