Maintenance Technician

Job overview

The Maintenance Technician role is onsite in Lowell, MA, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a 35-hour work week stated in the benefits information. Pay is $20 per hour. South Middlesex Opportunity Council maintains properties and provides services to clients and tenants. The technician completes maintenance requests and general repairs across SMOC properties, including building systems, vacant-room turnovers, and exterior upkeep. The role also communicates work-order status, follows safety and agency requirements, and supports tenants and clients as needs arise.

What you'll do

• Perform general building repairs using hand, power, and specialty tools
• complete vacant-room and apartment turnovers
• monitor building systems
• complete and update work orders
• perform exterior property upkeep
• report unusual occurrences or damage
• maintain professional communication with tenants, vendors, contractors, and staff
• follow safety and agency requirements.
