The Prep Cook — Senior Meals role is onsite in Rochester, NY. Compensation is $19.50–$20.00 per hour. The role is part of Foodlink’s Community Kitchen Operations, which prepares meals for senior citizens and also serves children and youth programs. Foodlink’s mission is to leverage food to end hunger and build healthier communities. The prep cook helps produce nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements and support the well-being of seniors. Working with the culinary team, the role assists with preparation, cooking, packing, distribution, and kitchen sanitation while following food-safety procedures.

What you'll do

• Assist with daily preparation, assembly, and expediting of foods and meal components
• follow recipes and instructions
• store food and supplies according to food-safety standards
• maintain required records and logs
• operate, maintain, and sanitize kitchen equipment
• follow cleaning schedules and use required protective equipment
• cross-train in kitchen areas as assigned
• serve as a role model for Career Fellowship participants.

Why this role

ServSafe Level 2 certification is required; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. One or more years of food-service experience is required; large-scale production experience is preferred.
