The Design Intern, New Product Engineering works onsite in Jessup, MD, with pay of $22–$28 per hour. The internship provides exposure to Baltimore Aircoil Company’s engineering design work and fabrication processes. The intern supports mechanical component and assembly design through 3D CAD drafting, drawing conversion, and sheet-metal design analysis. The work contributes to project documentation and gives the intern insight into the company’s engineering design and fabrication activities.

What you'll do

• Create 3D CAD sheet-metal designs and drafts for mechanical components and assemblies
• convert drawings from AutoCAD to Autodesk Inventor
• design, analyze, debug, and rework sheet-metal parts
• prepare and present a report at the end of the project.

Why this role

Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a junior or above in mechanical engineering or a related field. Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD experience are required; sheet-metal design, Autodesk Vault, and prior internship experience are preferred.
