Substance Use Disorder Counselor

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor role is onsite in Jessup, MD, with compensation of $30–$33 per hour. The GEO Group provides correctional and community reentry services, including evidence-based rehabilitation. The counselor assesses participants entering corrections, determines an appropriate level of care using assessment results, and provides treatment consistent with that level. The work includes individual and group counseling, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and discharge and aftercare planning.

What you'll do

• Administer, score, and interpret screening and assessment tools, including TCU Drug Screen and TAP
• conduct intake and standing-population screenings and post-testing
• interview participants and review DOC files
• prepare assessment reports
• create and maintain individual treatment plans
• conduct individual and group counseling
• maintain clinical charts under COMAR requirements
• complete discharge and aftercare plans
• participate in team staffing.
