The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role is onsite in Commack, NY. Compensation is $26.57–$29.23 per hour. Gurwin Healthcare System provides care across a healthcare continuum serving the Long Island community and beyond. Working under a licensed nurse’s direction, the CNA assists geriatric residents with personal care and activities of daily living, observes and reports changes in condition, and helps maintain residents’ living areas. The posting lists full-time evening and night shifts and part-time openings across all shifts; all positions work every other Saturday and Sunday.

What you'll do

• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, hygiene, toileting, meals, and mobility
• answer call lights
• assist with admissions and discharges and nursing-unit errands
• maintain resident living areas
• observe and report changes in condition
• measure and record intake and output, vital signs, and weights
• obtain routine specimens and perform other assigned care tasks.

Why this role

Current New York State Nurse Aide Registry certification required; one year of long-term care experience and CPR certification preferred; $2,500 sign-on bonus for full-time hires and $1,250 for part-time hires.
