Job overview
The Radiation Control Technician role is onsite in Gainesville, FL, and is full-time. Compensation is $20–$30 per hour. The position supports Perma-Fix Environmental Services’ radiological protection program and compliance with applicable procedures and regulations. The technician performs radiological monitoring and technical field work, maintains records and reviews data, and supports safety and health activities to help ensure work is conducted according to written plans and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
- Perform air sampling, radiation surveys, contamination control and monitoring, count-room equipment operation, access control, posting and labeling, record management, emergency response, equipment checks, and decontamination
- generate and review radiological data
- support industrial hygiene and safety tasks as assigned
- develop action plans for deficiencies
- and guide technical support staff.
