Life Skills Facilitator

Job overview

The Life Skills Facilitator role is onsite in Washington, DC, in a residential group-home setting. Pay is $17.00 per hour. Universal Healthcare Management Services provides community-based behavioral health services to children, youth, and families. The role supports residents’ treatment-plan goals by building daily living skills and resources, supervising residents, tracking treatment progress, and coordinating with the multidisciplinary service team.

What you'll do

• Provide a nurturing environment, close supervision, and security for group-home residents
• use relationship and counseling skills
• work with multidisciplinary service providers
• complete resident service reports, plans, and records according to program procedures
• meet with the House Manager and/or Program Director for supervision
• monitor safety and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.

Why this role

Works with adolescents who may have DYRS and/or CFSA involvement, histories of trauma, and emotional disturbance or potentially volatile behaviors. Emergency First-Aid/CPR certification, food-handler license, and specified clearances are required; a bachelor’s degree and/or entry-level substance-abuse education experience is preferred.
