Experienced Climbing Arborist

The Experienced Climbing Arborist role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Starting pay is $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The arborist joins Davey’s tree-care team, which provides tree services and environmental stewardship. The role performs tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully to support tree health and client needs. Working with a crew, the arborist climbs trees, maintains equipment, and carries out services such as canopy pruning, hazardous-tree removal, and installation of tree-support and lightning-protection systems.

What you'll do

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems
• work as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader
• perform tree pruning and removal
• prune, thin, and remove deadwood
• install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• remove hazardous trees
• maintain, prepare, and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment.
