Construction Materials Testing Technician

Job overview

The Construction Materials Testing Technician role is onsite in Cedar Creek, TX, near Austin, with field work at assigned job sites. Compensation is $22–$26 per hour. The technician supports construction projects by testing materials against project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The role performs field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile installation, then prepares detailed reports and communicates results. This work helps project teams assess material compliance and document construction conditions.

What you'll do

• Test soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials
• conduct concrete slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and cylinder testing
• perform soil compaction tests and applicable Proctor, Atterberg limits, and sieve analysis
• perform asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling
• monitor pile installation
• prepare field and laboratory reports
• follow safety and project procedures
• communicate jobsite updates to management and clients.
