HVAC/R Training Instructor

The HVAC/R Training Instructor role is onsite in Raleigh, NC, with travel to training sites and field locations in North Carolina and Virginia. Compensation is $65,000–$90,000 per year. The instructor reports to the Training Manager and supports workforce development for HVAC technicians, apprentices, and service personnel. The instructor develops and delivers technical training so employees can safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. Classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, and field coaching help build workforce skills and support operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Develop and update HVAC curricula, lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises
• deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on training
• demonstrate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
• teach HVAC principles, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, building automation, and energy efficiency
• assess learning through tests and practical evaluations
• stay current with technology and industry practices
• train employees on products and equipment
• coach field technicians and supervisors
• promote safety and regulatory compliance
• maintain training and certification records
• monitor trainee progress
• support onboarding and apprenticeships
• identify skill gaps with management.
