What you'll do

• Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal
• negotiate pricing based on market conditions and company guidelines
• develop supplier relationships and identify new sources
• prospect through field visits, calls, networking, and referrals
• monitor market trends
• meet purchasing and profitability goals
• inspect and verify scrap grades and specifications
• resolve supplier issues and maintain purchasing records
• follow safety, environmental, OSHA, and ISO standards
• travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel
• participate in quality, safety, and environmental audits.
