Special Education Teacher, Elementary Resource

The Special Education Teacher, Elementary Resource role is onsite in Spartanburg, SC, paying $40–$50 per hour. Pediatric Developmental Services places qualified teachers and pediatric therapists with schools and communities to support children’s development and education. The teacher creates and implements Individualized Education Plans, prepares lesson plans, and tracks student progress through reports and scheduled meetings. The role coordinates with school staff, families, and on-site therapists to support students’ learning and maintain a safe, productive classroom.

What you'll do

• Create and execute IEPs
• communicate student progress and challenges to staff and families
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• invite families to participate in educational progress
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• confer with on-site therapists about behavioral and disciplinary issues
• create a safe classroom environment.
