The Network Engineer role is onsite at USINDOPACOM J81, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. Compensation is $71,656–$151,736 per year. The engineer supports the Joint Innovation and Experimentation Division’s secure network operations for testing and experimentation. The role exists to integrate new technologies and capabilities into existing network architectures while maintaining secure, reliable operations. It provides network installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, cybersecurity oversight, and technical consultation in support of Joint and Combined interoperability and exercises across the Indo-Pacific area of operation.

What you'll do

• Support design, planning, connectivity, interoperability, and security for integrating technologies into network architectures
• install and use switches, routers, and firewalls
• perform client/server hardware and software installation
• conduct routine maintenance, diagnostic testing, and optimization
• coordinate software backup and antivirus requirements
• provide information assurance security oversight and technician guidance
• maintain system log-on controls and familiarity with vulnerability management tools and procedures
• perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• document security incidents and compliance
• prepare monthly reports and maintain inventory.
