The Swim Instructor role is onsite in Largo, FL, at the YMCA of the Suncoast Greater Ridgecrest Branch. Pay is $16.00–$16.25 per hour. The position teaches YMCA swimming programs for participants from parent-child through adult classes. The instructor provides direct teaching and supervision so participants can develop the swimming skills needed to progress to the next instructional level. The role also supports safe aquatic programming through lesson planning, progress communication, recordkeeping, and facility and equipment care.

What you'll do

• Teach swimming participants in each class
• maintain YMCA aquatic standards
• assist with supervision of children in locker rooms and at the pool
• know emergency procedures
• communicate participant progress to parents
• prepare lesson plans and maintain records and progress cards
• report safety concerns
• organize supplies and care for aquatic equipment.
