Secondary Special Education Teacher

The Secondary Special Education Teacher role is onsite in Bonner Springs, KS. Pay is $40–$48 per hour. Pediatric Developmental Services places teachers and pediatric therapists with schools and communities to support children’s educational needs. The teacher develops and implements individualized education plans, prepares lessons and progress reports, and works with students, families, school staff, and onsite therapists. The role supports students’ learning and development by creating individualized strategies and a safe, productive classroom environment.

What you'll do

• Create and execute individualized education plans
• communicate with staff and families about student progress and challenges
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• involve families in educational progress
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• consult onsite therapists about disciplinary and behavioral issues
• maintain a safe, productive classroom.
