The Special Education Paraprofessional role is onsite in Saint Charles, MO, with pay starting at $18 per hour. The Behavior Helper Academy is a therapeutic school supporting students with complex behavioral, developmental, and mental health needs. The paraprofessional implements individualized behavior and care plans under BCBA and instructional-team guidance, supports students in individual and small-group settings, and collects data on behavior and learning goals. The role helps students develop communication, academic, self-care, social, and life skills while supporting a safe, structured learning environment.

What you'll do

• Implement individualized behavior and care plans
• support students in one-to-one and small-group settings
• collect data on behaviors, IEP goals, and daily activities
• assist with routines, skill development, and emotional regulation
• use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques
• participate in team-based physical safety interventions when needed
• prepare student materials
• maintain documentation and confidentiality
• collaborate with teachers and therapists
• participate in training and professional development.
